Safety Stations PPE dispensers

Wednesday, 23 September, 2009 | Supplied by: Safety Stations Australia Pty Ltd

Safety Stations are designed to dispense PPE such as safety vests, glasses, earplugs, batteries and first aid, as well as consumables such as permanent markers, grinding wheels, drill bits and cutting tools.

The dispensers can be located in convenient locations throughout the workplace to provide 24/7 access to PPE.

Each dispenser is fitted with a card reader and employees can access equipment with a card which is issued by their employer. To access a product, the card is inserted into the reader; when a selection is made, the reader records the Safety Station number, time, date, employee ID number and a description of the product dispensed.

With the in-built recording feature, the stations keep track of PPE usage. Management is able to identify who is (and importantly who is not) using PPE and how many of any particular item has been dispensed to that employee. The data collection (audit) card can provide all relevant PPE-usage data.

Contractors and visitors can be issued with their own 'contractor safety card' to access PPE from the station.
