Intelligent analysis and evaluation

Users require reliable data in real time to enable the connection of sensors and safety controllers to standard automation systems.
SICK’s products for integrating sensors and safety controllers cover device description files for generic integration, standardised interfaces (eg, TCI, FDT/DTM) for configuration and diagnostic purposes and function blocks for integration into the PLC program. Tools such as OPC servers and webservers support simple integration into the individual HMI solution. The SOPAS ET configuration tool facilitates the commissioning, parameterisation, configuration and diagnostic processes. The package analytics software allows users to perform comprehensive tests in the field of identification.
Components to provide process control data are becoming increasingly modular, intelligent and networked, and analytics tools are required to evaluate the flood of information. Some of the tools available include:
PLC function blocks
They allow complex process data to be broken down at control level into its individual units of information, which can then be analysed and evaluated accordingly. This is also how the flow of data is separated.
Package analytics software: real-time visualisations and analyses
This is a web-based client/server system that maximises transparency across the identification and sorting process. It combines all information relating to an object - including the barcode, volume, weight, image data and video data - to streamline the analysis. Users can monitor all camera, laser scanner and RFID systems from anywhere in the network. The recorded data stored in the database forms a solid basis for targeted evaluations to be carried out. By detecting repeated process patterns, anomalies and their dependencies, a CEP service provider - for example - can continually optimise its processes. This also makes it possible to produce and simulate tasks such as causal analyses, trend forecasts and what-if scenarios, making package analytics software an efficient interface to ERP systems.
MEAC data acquisition system
This offers continuous acquisition, evaluation, storage and visualisation, as well as transfer of emission data for contemporary emission data management. Up to 16 data acquisition units, each equipped with a scalable ring buffer, can be connected to the central emission PC. It is also possible to integrate process control systems.
SICK’s solutions support all standard interfaces for factory, logistics and process automation, making them accessible for all system environments.
