SWA releases webinar to support transition to GHS 7
Safe Work Australia has published a webinar to help businesses navigate the transition from the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals Revision 3 (GHS 3) to Revision 7 (GHS 7). The GHS is a global method of classifying chemicals and preparing labels and safety data sheets. Australia commenced the two-year transition from GHS 3 to GHS 7 on 1 January 2021.
Businesses that manufacture, import, supply or use hazardous chemicals are urged to watch the online presentation. The webinar details what the GHS is, why it is changing and what it will mean for businesses. It also covers transition arrangements and outlines what it changing — including changes to classification and labelling requirements.
Further guidance material and resources for businesses are available on the GHS 7 transition web page.
