WorkSafe Victoria CEO decides not to renew contract
WorkSafe Victoria CEO Greg Tweedly has announced he will not seek a new three-year contract after nine years in the role.
Tweedly’s contract expires in March; however, at the request of the board, he has made himself available to remain in the role until July while a comprehensive recruitment process takes place and to oversee the development of WorkSafe’s next five-year strategy. Tweedly will spend time overseas with his family and friends and will look to pursue new challenges later in the year.
Prior to his position as chief executive, Tweedly was WorkSafe’s director of scheme regulation between 1990 and 1996 and served as acting chief executive between September and November 2002. He was also executive general manager of the Transport Accident Commission between 1996 and 2002.
