Workplace Health & Safety Show postponed

To mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Australian Institute of Health and Safety (AIHS) and the IEC Group has postponed the Workplace Health & Safety Show in Melbourne, which was scheduled for 27–28 May 2020. Together with the #SAFETYSCAPE Convention, the event is an important platform for health and safety professionals to share information and access resources to improve the safety of Australians at work.

“This is a fundamental health and safety issue. These necessary restrictions are in place to protect all of us, including those who are more vulnerable in the community. Together we need to support one another and remember that physical isolation does not mean social isolation; I encourage everyone to use the technology available to you to check in with colleagues, friends and family,” said Marie Kinsella, Chief Executive Officer of IEC Group.

AIHS will instead host a virtual #SAFETYSCAPE Convention at the end of May 2020, with opportunities for exhibitors to engage with delegates through an online experience. Further information about the virtual convention will be shared as the concept is developed. AIHS is also working with the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) to confirm new dates for early 2021, and will be in contact with partners, exhibitors and visitors to determine how to continue working together to create environments where people are excited to connect, communicate and collaborate.
