Will the next Safety Ambassador of the Year be you?
Safe Work Australia is encouraging Australians to showcase their passion for work health and safety by entering the Safety Ambassador of the Year Award.
“The Safety Ambassador of the Year Award is a unique award that offers individuals the chance to be recognised on a national level for making a difference to workplace health and safety,” said Safe Work chair Tom Phillips AM.
“We are looking for entrants who have shown initiative and taken the lead on improving health and safety in their workplace. We expect to see some diverse entries as entrants may have developed new safety initiatives, implemented a new safety program or come up with a unique way to get their colleagues focusing on safety.”
The award winner will be a national ambassador for work health and safety. People at all levels are eligible to enter including workers, health and safety representatives, managers, CEOs and volunteers.
Entries for the award close on 24 September and the winner will be announced at the end of October.
To be eligible, entrants need to be registered as a Safety Ambassador, an initiative run as part of 2012 National Safe Work Australia Week.
