Underground mine safety training gallery
SkillsTech Australia has officially opened the Lennon Underground Mine Safety Training Gallery at its Eagle Farm Training Centre in South East Queensland. The gallery will provide safety training for mineworkers by simulating the underground working environment.
SkillsTech Australia Institute Director Mary Campbell said the innovative industry partnership with Lennon Training signified the institute’s ongoing commitment to delivering the best training to workers in the mining sector.
“This training facility is the first of its kind for our institute and will greatly benefit trade workers in this booming resource sector,” Campbell said.
“With the resource sector continuing to expand, it is exciting for this institute, together with Lennon Training, to provide mineworkers with access to a realistic working environment.
“With skills shortages in the resource sector, it is training partnerships like these that will create skills today for Queensland’s future.”
Lennon Training Business Development Manager John Lennon said partnering with SkillsTech Australia was a momentous occasion.
“Our training centres play a very important role in defining the safe attitudes required of students to safely enter the mining workforce,” Lennon said.
“We are very pleased to partner with SkillsTech Australia and delivery high-quality safety simulation training to the mining workforce in South East Queensland.”
