Record attendance at WH&S Show
The 2024 Workplace Health & Safety Show, held in both Melbourne and Sydney, has achieved a huge increase in attendance rates.
Since it was acquired by National Media less than 12 months ago, the combined attendance rate at the event has grown by more than 300%.
Exhibitors and attendees alike have praised the show, with 93% of exhibitors saying new leads were their top reason for participating, and 98% reporting the event exceeded their expectations.
“2024 has been a remarkable, record-breaking year for the Workplace Health & Safety Show, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved in our first year of ownership,” said Stephen Blackie, Portfolio Director of the Workplace Health & Safety Show.
“From our three new industry summits to the Champions of Safety Awards honouring rising stars, pioneers and icons, this year’s events demonstrated the sector’s commitment to excellence. The Sydney event also featured a first for Australia — a live demo of drones carrying out cleaning at heights.”
The show attracted an impressive list of guests, including C-suite professionals and managers from some of the country’s largest brands, as well as an extensive list of exhibitors, creating the ideal space for networking, research and buying.
“If you ever need to meet every possible person in health and safety, this is the place to be,” said Stefanie Nutt, People and Culture Director, John Holland.
Trent Curtin, Deputy Secretary at SafeWork NSW, agreed: “It’s a wonderful place for industry experts as well as health and safety experts to keep workers safe every day in workplaces across NSW.”
With 9162 buyers, over 325 exhibitors, and 28,440 leads generated, Stephen Blackie said there is a huge demand for face-to-face networking and learning in the safety sector.
“Exhibitors saw tremendous value as attendees managed over $1 billion in collective budgets across our Melbourne and Sydney events, underscoring the industry’s significant investment and focus on workplace safety,” he said.
Following the success of its 2024 Shows, National Media has plans for an even bigger Workplace Health & Safety Show in 2025. “Looking ahead, we’re excited to build on this success in 2025, with an even bigger event featuring more buyers, exhibitors, industry and government partners, and a revamped educational program designed to keep safety professionals at the forefront of compliance, legislation and best practices,” Blackie said.
The Workplace Health & Safety Show is scheduled to take place in Melbourne from 21–22 May 2025, and in Sydney from 22–23 October 2025. Exhibition spaces are currently open for booking, with more information available at https://whsshow.com.au/.
