Friday, 08 November, 2013

ABC Commercial has released ‘Happy Body At Work’, an innovative workplace wellness package aimed at combating the health issues associated with today’s increasingly sedentary workplaces. The 10-week digital education package provides health messages in an entertaining, engaging and accessible format. Employers license the web-based package, which is then rolled out to their employees over a 10-week period. Designed to improve employee resilience, productivity and presenteeism, the package creates innovative ways to educate and engage people in all aspects of their life.

The launch event was hosted at the ABC headquarters in Sydney this morning and was well attended by over 50 representatives from organisations including Bupa, ASX, Optus, Sydney Trains, Westpac and St George Bank.

Three leading experts in the field of sedentary lifestyle research - Dr Martin Mackey (Sydney University); Lynn Gunning (Comcare); and, Anna-Louise Bouvier (Executive Director of Physiocise) - presented the latest research and innovations in education and behavioural change.

Anna-Louise Bouvier, author, well-known media commentator and creator of the package, said, “To take the load off people’s minds and bodies in sedentary workplaces we need to change habits. To change habits we need to provide simple, sticky messages. Happy Body At Work takes the latest evidence and makes it interesting, engaging and memorable.”

Cyrus Irani, manager ABC library sales, commented, “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with someone as professional and fun as Anna-Louise. I think this shows in the quality of the Happy Body At Work program.

“The 10-week program is easy and effective to use and creates a happier, healthier workforce. That’s a win for all of us.”
