Last week (Wednesday 24 April 2013), Brady Australia officially opened its new purpose-built facility in Greystanes, NSW. Over 100 guests were welcomed and participated in a guided tour through the facility. At the official opening ceremony, Esther Savvas, Managing Director, Brady Australia, said the purpose-built facility was a testament to the continued growth and success the company has achieved as a business and a reflection of the heart and soul of the business - “our people”. Guest speakers included Shannon Dallas from the WorkCover NSW Paralympian Program and John Harris from the Salvos’ Youth Foundation.

Harris spoke about the Salvos’ partnership with the Brady Australia Foundation and how it will help spread the message of hope to the youth of Australia. As a Salvation Army Youth Liaison Officer, Harris works closely with the Salvos’ Youth Foundation on the Hamilton Island Project, an employment pathway program for at risk, disadvantaged and/or former homeless youth. The Brady Australia Foundation committee (which was established in January 2012) supports a number of charities, and has chosen the Salvos’ Youth Foundation, part of the Salvation Army, as its main partner. Brady presented the ‘Freedom Van’, which it has sponsored and will be used in a variety of ways to support youth in Sydney’s western suburbs area.

To celebrate Brady’s partnership with the Salvo’s Youth Foundation, Seton Australia (a Brady business) invited its customers to participate in a short survey. Upon completion of the survey, customers could choose one of three reward options - one of the options was for Seton to donate $20 to the Salvos’ Youth Foundation. As a result, Seton had the pleasure of presenting a $10,000 cheque to The Salvation Army for the Salvos’ Youth Support Network.

Harris was moved and humbled by the generous, unexpected donation which filled him with hope. “I look forward to sharing with you where and what we intend to use this donation for and provide back to your customers updates on how their generosity helped us change lives,” he said.
