Speed monitoring system

The Fork-Safe Speed Monitoring System (SMS) is designed to monitor the speed of a vehicle.

The main benefit of the system is that it places the control of the vehicle with the operator by monitoring the system at a given speed. If the vehicle exceeds this speed range by a preset amount, the SMS will activate a fuel control, prohibiting the vehicle from further excessive speeds.

This system provides numerous advantages from standard 'limit only' systems including: encouraging the operator to become accustomed to the correct speed limit by knowledge and experience, not just by a limiting device, allowing them to use this knowledge on other types of vehicles; the SMS does not restrict engine power at stationary or low speeds where it is most required for hydraulic operation; with a flashing light mounted on the roof of the vehicle, not only is it highly visible to others, but the Fork-Safe SMS has the ability to be set as "flash when over speed" of "flash when at correct speed".

The SMS can assist in pinpointing issues of incorrect driving practices by operators that may be due to other influences such as factory/warehouse layout, types of goods carried, operator training, etc. The SMS can assist in finding the problem, not just covering it up; additional add-ons are available including access system control, logging module, and speed readout indicator (in conjunction with Form-Cam); compact and mounted out of sight it cannot be adjusted without authorisation.
