Saliva testing for drugs

Wednesday, 21 November, 2007 | Supplied by: Drugscreen Pty Ltd

Druglab Oral Fluid 6 is a one-step multi-line screen test device that simultaneously tests for the presence of multiple drugs and metabolites in human oral fluid.

The device tests for a variety of drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, opiates, phencyclidines and their metabolites for specific periods of time within the subject's body.

The tester is an immunoassay - based on the principle of competitive binding. A drug-positive specimen will not generate a coloured line in the specific test line region of the strip because of drug competition, while a drug-negative oral fluid specimen will generate a line in the test line region because of the absence of drug competition.

The tester can be stored as packaged in the sealed pouch either at room temperature or refrigerated (2-30°C) and is stable until the expiration date printed on the pouch.

The tester kit is supplied with test devices, collectors, collection tubes, security seals and package insert. A timer is required for the tests, but not supplied.
