Tychem C is a polyethylene coated fabric that uses the high strength-to-weight ratio and flexibility of Tyvek. It is 100% particle tight and provides protection against ultra-fine hazardous dusts and powders, concentrated inorganic acids and bases and water-based salt solutions.
The resists liquid splashes of pressures up to 2 bar and provides protection against body fluids, blood and blood-borne pathogens.
The material has an antistatic coating on the white inside surface. The substrate does not contain any halogenated compounds, and therefore may be incinerated or buried in a controlled landfill. It is suitable for use in the petroleum, pulp and paper, food and chemical processing, and pharmaceutical industries.
