Flashpoint is a factor in determining the hazard classification of many substances. The Stanhope Seta Active Cool uses the rapid equilibrium method to provide a flashpoint value in less than 2 mins and to determine whether a sample meets the expected flashpoint criteria.

The Active Cool is able to test the flash point of liquids and semi-liquids, and requires a sample size of 2 mL. It is a lightweight and compact instrument designed for use in the laboratory, production line and for portable applications.

The Active Cool is a small scale flash point tester providing testing at or below ambient temperature and with rapid cool-down. It has in-built electronic peltier coolers that enable testing at low temperatures and reduce the heat after a test is completed, facilitating fast sample removal and preparation for subsequent tests. These features, combined with the small sample size and fast temperature stabilisation, significantly reduce overall test time, improve throughput and minimise waste disposal.

The unit has a 'ramp' facility which automatically increases the temperature of the sample until a flash is detected. The unit features a flash/no flash test which makes flash point testing an easy and safe procedure, even for users with no previous laboratory experience.
