e3 Learning Solutions has developed, in conjunction with WorkCover SA Corporation, a suite of online OHS courses. The courses have been developed around the NOHSC standards related to training employees and supervisors.
When applied in a mandatory fashion within an organisation, the courses work towards fulfilling the training aspects of the employer's 'duty of care' obligations to employees under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The suite includes the courses: injury management, manual handling, OHS induction, hazardous substances, hazard management and incident investigation.
Educational methodology includes problem-based learning and workplace simulations. The courses are delivered in e3's Learning and Compliance Management System, LearnForce, which enables managers to track and monitor individual progress, as well as verify levels of competencies.
Benefits include standardisation of content and cost savings compared with traditional classroom-based training. This is particularly relevant to large organisations who are required to deliver training to multiple sites.
