Automation forum postponed to 2007
Thursday, 13 July, 2006
The Automation Business Forum that was to run a day prior to the Manufacturing Technology InFocus exhibition in October has been postponed until 2007.
Organiser of the event, Diversified Exhibitions Australia recently announced that time constraints had caused the event to be rescheduled.
The company said it "had very positive feedback both from exhibitors and visitors; however, due to time limitations the forum will be rescheduled for 2007, which will allow the automation and manufacturing industry the opportunity to partake in this event".
One of the exhibitors that had signed up to participate in the event is Pilz Safe Automation. Managing director, Frank Schrever told Safety Solutions the company had been all set to participate in the event and thought the concept was terrific.
"The idea had been put together very well and seemed to be going along at great speed. Obviously they feel they can't pull it together in time for October," he said.
The event's concept is new to Australia and is based on an exhibition model that has found success in Europe.
According to Schrever, exhibitors each have a table and schedule appointments with key buyers from various industries. "You sit with each person for half an hour. There are also seminars constantly running for visitors to attend at times when they have no business-matching meeting."
