Living in an increasingly industrialized world, it would be hard to over emphasize the importance of professional protective clothing fit for purpose. A large number of industries are involved in either manufacturing or dealing with hazardous substances on a regular basis. While there is more emphasis than ever on the use of protective clothing to ensure workers' health and safety, the real solution is far from simple.

On the one hand, the seriousness of the potential danger has increased - rapid changes in the industry and advancing technologies mean that potential hazards are no longer a by-product, they have become a central concern. And, for those who are charged with the job of protecting others from these ever-multiplying hazards, the race to find newer and more comprehensive protective apparel is one that involves constant research and continual review. With the material being of critical importance, there are some key criteria that need to be met in garment design.

  • Ability of the garment to protect the wearer from a range of particle and chemical exposures.
  • Material durability, resistance to tears, punctures, cuts, and abrasion.
  • Garment designs which will allow workers freedom of movement to perform required tasks in an industrial environment.
  • Comfort under temperature and humidity extremes.
  • Quality construction throughout, including seams and closures.

With many seemingly similar options available that make decision-making harder for professionals, they have rightly come to rely on a key factor not found in many disposable coveralls - compliance with industry standards.

Hazards of using non-compliant protective clothing are well known and the cost savings are never worth the risk. It is important to ensure workers are protected in the best possible manner and there is nothing more reassuring then providing products to your workers that conform to industry standards.

As a leading Australian manufacturer of personal protective apparel, GSSM (Global Safety Solutions & Management) understands the importance of this KEY factor in garment selection, for both the wearer and purchaser of these types of protective garments.

GSSM's Premium Protective Disposable Coverall CovTech CT365P has been independently tested and certified to internationally recognized protective garment standards.

CovTech CT365P Premium Coverall - a versatile performer

The CovTech CT365P Coverall range is suitable for a variety of tasks - from working with hazardous dusts, particles and fibres, through to chemical handling, and is especially well suited for critical processes. Many applications for its use include:

Asbestos removal, accident attendance, synthetic mineral fibre exposure, food and pharmaceutical processes, painting and spraying, fibreglass manufacturing processes, electronic assembly, mining and industrial, manufacturing and maintenance.

Features and Benefits

  • The CovTech CT365P fabric provides an outstanding barrier against a wide range of chemicals and cerosols. Test method EN368 offers 100% protection against pesticide, methyl pentane, xylene & acetone
  • Being silicone-free and with ultra low linting, CovTech is ideal for use in critical painting applications and for reducing the risk of contamination to components in the semi-conductor industry & telecommunication assembly.
  • The CT365P is also light weight and durable with superior soft comfort. Features include elastic hood, wrists, waist, and ankles plus a zipper cover flap with self adhesive tape, providing additional coverage & protection.
  • CovTech durability in tough work conditions also equates to a reduction in purchasing costs compared to cheap NON-compliant alternatives.
  • Internationally recognised CE Certification covering Type 6 Light Liquid spray and Type 5 aerosols & fine particle protection allow CovTech Coveralls to be distributed into many global markets.

A closer look at the fabric

CovTech CT365P is manufactured from premium breathable soft, anti-static 65gm/sq meter fabric, offering the following crucial advantages:

  • High structural strength with excellent tensile, tear and abrasion resistance
  • Anti-static (EN1149-1) helps prevent build-up of static electricity, which could present as a major safety risk in certain industries e.g. the petrochemical industry
  • Breathable (assistance in reducing potential heat stress) and providing improved comfort for wearers in extreme working conditions
  • Particle protection - holding out 99% of fibres and hazardous particles greater than 1 micron

CovTech Premium Disposable Coveralls CT365P - Fully Compliant

The CovTech CT365P coverall complies with the worldwide recognised CE standards for limited life chemical protective garments covering Type 5 particle protection & Type 6 limited splash and conforming to garments made to a complex design.

The CT365P is constructed using a microporous fabric which enables the material to breath during use and in so doing it reduces the possibility of heat stress.

The CT365P is anti-static, complying with the surface & resistivity EN1149-1 test method. Being anti-static helps prevent build up of static electricity which could present as a major safety risk in certain industries.

The CT365P coveralls are manufactured using a premium non-woven fabric offering superior comfort & softness.

The design of the CovTech CT365P coverall consists of elasticised hood, waist, wrists, ankles and a zip cover flap for additional protection. The coveralls are designed for workers, with additional room for freedom of movement in the back, shoulder, arm and crotch areas of the garment. This equates to improved comfort and flexibility for the wearer and greater productivity gains for the purchaser of the garments.

A closer look at CovTech CT365P Coveralls

There is a lot that goes into designing and creating protective clothing that needs to perform under challenging conditions. CovTech CT365P Coveralls are created according to strict quality control measures adopted at GSSM. Take a look at the process's involved in making CovTech CT365P Coveralls ready to wear and protect the worker on your worksite.

Fabric

The GSSM fabric factory provides with each consignment a quality certificate that stipulates quantity, weight, thickness, width and length of rolls, colour and result of water pressure test. On receipt of the fabric the garment manufacturer issues their own report confirming that the fabric is in accordance with the CovTech CT365P specification and also that the surface is contaminant free.

Compnents

Packaging, zip, elastic, thread, labels are all inspected upon receipt and reports issued, confirming that all components are as per the CovTech CT365P stringent specifications.

Cutting

Prior to cutting the fabric undergoes inspection on light tables to check for any colour defects, loose fibres, dirt spots and perforations. One standard design is used with a different pattern for each size. Size specifications are the same for all countries. The garments are designed specifically for workers.

Sewing

There are 8 stitches per inch. The sewing department has copies of size tables and sample garments for each size to ensure accuracy.

Packing & finishing

A visual inspection is made of all finished garments. This includes sewing, labels and zip test. Once approved the CT365P Coverall is folded and sealed in a plastic bag and placed in the outer cartons. On completion of each order a final inspection is done and report issued.
