Sound assessment system

Friday, 07 August, 2009 | Supplied by: Acoustic Research Laboratories Pty Ltd

The NGARA sound acquisition system records and measures sound in real time, with logged data saved as formatted lists of sound pressure level measurements. Samples are taken every 100 ms.

Data gathered is capable of being post-processed to produce statistical representation of the data obtained. Both CSV file data and raw data (wav file) are split into 1-hour long files. A new file is created every hour, on the hour.

The logger can be set up in recording mode to produce wav and CSV files, non-recording mode to produce CSV files only and triggering mode to produce CSV files with raw data collected after a preset trigger event.

The system can simultaneously produce Fast SPL-A, Fast SPL-C, Leq-A and Leq-C acoustic measurements.

Control and configuration is accomplished through an LCD display and push-button interface.

USB ports interface to data storage devices, an ethernet port communicates with the logger for control and configuration and an optional external push-button input triggers recording of raw data.
