Morning Pride Kore Kooler rehab chair

The Morning Pride Kore Kooler rehab chair can be used to help firefighters (and other workers in extreme heat conditions) prevent heat stress by quickly lowering the body’s core temperature to within its safe range.

The chair promotes cooling by conduction. The firefighter places their forearm into a cold water bag, located in the arm of the chair, for 20 min. Heat is then dissipated through the blood vessels closest to the skin’s surface, as well as the skin itself, into the cool water. The cooled blood then returns to the heart and is pumped through the body, reducing the body’s core temperature. Forearm immersion in water is claimed to be more effective than methods such as a misting fan.

The compact chair can be easily transported so it is readily available in any emergency situation.
