Hybrid hazardous location headlamp

The Petzl Duo ATEX L5 headlamp is designed for use in the presence of gases, vapours and mists with a self-ignition temperature of more than 200°C at atmospheric pressure.

This protection corresponds to almost all gases, with the exception of acetaldehyde (140°C), ethyl ether (170°C), ethyl nitrate (90°C) and carbon disulfide (102°C).

It has been designed for use in zone 1 (repeated presence of gas) but must not be used in mines where firedamp may be present, or in dusty atmospheres such as grain silos. The intrinsic safety mode reduces the risk of an electrical arc or overheating of the battery pack and the augmented safety mode reduces the risk of the optic overheating if the bulb breaks.

The hybrid housing adapts the lighting level to the activity, with five LEDs for smooth, white proximity lighting with a long light duration, a standard bulb for long-range lighting and a standard light source that can be focused. The on/off switch locks to avoid accidental operation and the product is waterproof up to 5 m.
