Moulds are fungi that can be found anywhere, growing on virtually any substance - all that is needed is moisture, oxygen and an organic source. Problems may arise when mould starts eating away at materials, affecting the look, smell and possibly, with the respect to wood-framed buildings, the structural integrity of the buildings.

Mould can be removed; however safety precautions must be taken. If a mould outbreak is not dealt with, it can cause serious health issues, including nasal congestion, sneezing, coughing and respiratory infections and can exacerbate asthma and other existing allergic conditions.

The Victorian Government recommends a P1 or P2 respirator be worn to protect against particles that may be in the air, while the NSW Government recommends a high efficiency particulate (HEPA) filter, which will have a P2 or P3 rating. Made out of lightweight silicone, which prevents oxidation and elasticity loss, the respirator has a large, pliable sealing area that allows for a secure fit, while the oversized inhalation ports enable lower-breathing resistance to enhance wearer comfort. With an angled, self-adjusting nose bridge, the respirator accommodates safety or prescription eyewear and the computer-designed face piece allows optimal speech communication without the aid of a speaking diaphragm.

The product is compatible with the company’s threaded cartridges and replacement parts are readily available. Certified to AS/NZS 1716:2012 Licence No: 0952, the mask is suitable for those who require an easy-to-use air-purifying respirator.
