The wireless iLAS System (intelligent lockdown and alert siren) from Emergency Alert Systems is claimed to be the world’s first scalable, wirelessly remote controlled, wirelessly networked multi-tone alert siren system.

Delivering very loud evacuation, lockdown and other emergency and alert tones, sirens can be mounted wherever they are needed. A self-establishing secure wireless network links all the sirens on a site. In an emergency, authorised users can select and set off a siren and voice alert using a pocket remote control from anywhere on the site. Any siren activated by a user sets off every other siren in the network within seconds.

A key feature is that it can support from 1 to 100 sirens without having to install any network cabling. Sirens can be moved as required, or additional ones added, because the wireless backbone is self establishing and can accommodate any number of nodes. Every siren node requires 240 VAC power but has a backup battery that can be optionally charged by a solar array. The system can be installed faster than conventional hardwired siren or PA alert systems and it can be activated faster, from anywhere, in an emergency.

The system also has optional wirelessly controlled flashing warning beacons for sites with hearing impaired personnel or high ambient noise.

Designed and supported in Australia, the system can be customised for commercial, industrial or mining applications.

The siren horns are high-output outdoor style and the system can be installed by any competent handyperson or site electrician, with user training being minimal.
