DustTrak dust exposure monitoring

Tuesday, 06 September, 2016 | Supplied by: Occupational Matters

Dust exposure is an occupational exposure concern for many industries.

A DustTrak instrument can measure instantaneous dust concentrations in real time. Dust can be measured every minute or every 10 minutes, for as long a duration as the user requires.

The tool is used to assess if dust levels in an area are above the 0.05 mg/m3 NEPM 24-hour PM10 air quality guideline. If there are three exceedances throughout this period, a remediation strategy needs to be implemented.

Samantha Sims, occupational hygienist at Occupational Matters, explains how to use the DustTrak dust exposure instrument in the following YouTube clip.
