Cooling vest

Tuesday, 01 July, 2008 | Supplied by: Enware Australia Pty Ltd

The Arctic cooling vest is based on the same technology used by marathon runners, tennis players, footballers, cricketers and others exposed to heat hazards.

The lightweight, comfortable and easy-to-use vests — tested and approved by CSIRO — are manufactured from proven body cooling materials, including Sportswool, microfibre and pockets of gel that can be refrigerated.

Sportswool is a body cooling material, developed by the CSIRO and Woolmark, which integrates a composite of bi-component Merino wool structures with other fibres to exploit the breathing properties of wool.

The vest is designed to drop skin temperature by up to 10°C and body core temperature by 0.5°C, providing prolonged cooling comfort to the wearer.
