The Paulson ArcShield protects the face of a worker in hazardous electrical environments from radiation from an electrical arc flash.
Electrical arc flash results from a fault in a high-current electrical system, regardless of whether it is a low-, medium- or high-voltage system. The metal plasma arc produces tremendous amounts of energy across the light spectrum from ultraviolet to far infrared, as well as extreme heat that can vaporise nearby objects.
To protect against such harsh conditions, the materials used for the construction of the ArcShield include a special visible dye, laser-absorbing compounds, oils and lubricants that allow a controlled surface ablation and absorption of energy and harmful UV and IR radiation.
The product also features contrast enhancement, up to 70% light transmission and true colour impression for a broad range of visible light.
