The Personal Injury Education Foundation, an organisation established by Australian and New Zealand accident compensation regulators, insurers and claims management organisations, recently announced the winners of the inaugural 2008 Excellence in Personal Injury Management Awards.

The awards showcased the achievements made in personal injury management across Australasia and acknowledged the industry’s importance to the broader community.

The judging panel included representatives from the Australian and New Zealand Institute for Insurance and Finance, the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Deakin Prime and the NSW Business Chamber.

Professor Bob Officer, chairman of the Personal Injury Education Foundation, said: “Australia and New Zealand are working towards becoming centres of excellence in delivering health and return to work outcomes for those unfortunate enough to experience a personal injury.

“Importantly, the awards recognise the achievements being made so far and serve to encourage the industry to lift the bar and better deliver on the community’s expectations for personal injury support. All award winners have demonstrated a commitment and significant contribution to this.”

  • Excellence in Personal Injury Management award — David McKean, technical manager, Cambridge Integrated Services
