Guide released for safe work in hot conditions
A new working in heat safety guide has been released by Safe Work Australia.
Heat is a hazard in many Australian workplaces, whether work is performed indoors or outdoors, so the guide has been produced to help employers and workers stay safe.
People in control of the workplace, such as managers and supervisors, as well as workers, all have duties under work health and safety laws to manage risks to worker health and safety, such as those associated with working in heat.
The 'Guide for managing the risks of working in heat' can be accessed on the Safe Work Australia website.
Also available is the first aid fact sheet for information on recognising and treating the most common forms of heat-related illness.
