Elliotts Vector Shield insect-repellent apparel range
Elliotts has released the Vector Shield insect-repellent apparel range that can be used in remote environments, such as Northern Australia and PNG, to repel insects and provide worker safety from the threat of diseases and viruses transmitted by mosquitoes and other insects.
The specialised insect-repellent apparel is designed specifically for industrial applications and its fabric is Oeko-tex certified, safe to wear and effective.
It is claimed to provide durable, long-lasting, highly effective personal insect protection in fabrics and apparel specially designed for hard wearing industrial applications and is also available in high-visibility colours conforming to AS1906. The fabric is Oeko-tex certified, safe to wear and effective, and has been used in military applications for many years.
The safety of the fabric is based on the manufacturing process using technology that distributes the treatment to one side of the fabric. Users have the benefit of wearing protection near the skin but have the confidence that the majority of the permethrin treatment is not against the skin.
Wearing insect-repellent apparel such as Vector Shield should just be part of a vector control program.
