Elliotts TenCate Tecasafe plus inherent FR workwear

TenCate Tecasafe plus is engineered to provide electric arc and flash fire protection for electrical, petroleum and gas workers, utility linemen, foundry men, welders, oil refinery workers and other professionals working in hazardous workplace environments. The Tecasafe plus materials are said to last twice as long as FR-treated cotton fabrics and the fabric’s inherent protection is claimed to never wash or wear out.

Constructed from a tri-blend of 48% modacrylic, 37% lyocell and 15% aramid, Tecasafe plus is a soft, lightweight fabric that is comfortable to wear while providing the user with FR protection. It is UL Certified to NFPA 2112 (Flash Fire Certified), meets standards for FR fabrics NFPA70E and ASTM F15 and is manufactured to meet the requirements of AS4602.1:2011 High Visibility Safety Garments.

Fabric features include: modacrylic fibres provide FR protection and durability to the Tencel fibres (easy to colour dye); Tencel fibres - the cellulose content provides comfort and soft handle (good moisture management as a result of Tencel being able to absorb three times its own weight in water); para-aramid fibres provide enhanced durability and thermal stability (low shrinkage and loss of strength when exposed to thermal exposure).

The Elliotts FR Safety Workwear range is constructed using Tecasafe plus and crafted to create high FR protection for worksite personnel. The Tecasafe range is sewn with Nomex FR threads, all seams are overlocked and then topstitched, all stress points are bar tacked, there are no metal components, has an ergonomic design and fit for greater freedom of movement and AS4836:2011 compliant 3M 8935 FR reflective tape.

Fabric benefits include: inherently flame resistant; electrical arc flash and flash fire protection; abrasion resistance and strength retention; easy-care washing and maintains like-new appearance after multiple industrial washes; available in a range of colours including hi-vis yellow.

The range includes long sleeve shirts, trousers, coverall, jackets and vests in various colour and reflective trim combinations. The workwear is available in a men’s and women’s range.

The company can offer customised workwear systems. Custom design features available include reflective trim, high collars and custom pockets, vented back and arm gussets, custom logos and embroidery and is available in fabric weights including 5.8 oz/195 gsm HRC 1 - ATPV 6.5, 7.0 oz/235 gsm HRC 2 - ATPV 9.0, and 8.5 oz/288 gsm HRC 2 - ATPV 10.2.
