Radar sensor

The R-Gage QT50R advanced radar sensor detects moving and stationary objects in harsh weather conditions. The system uses frequency modulated continuous wave radar to detect presence, absence or change of large objects outdoors and in other challenging environments.

The sensor was developed for weather situations where optical and ultrasound devices cannot function and for use with stationary objects that cannot be detected by Doppler radar. An adjustable sensing field, easily set by DIP switch, allows it to ignore objects beyond the distance specified by the operator.

Applications include vehicle counting and access control, drive-through monitoring, tollbooth operations, truck detection at loading docks, cargo positioning on truck beds, container detection in port operations, train detection and safety systems in tunnels.

The rugged IP67-rated housing withstands harsh environments and the True-Presence radar delivers accurate information regardless of rain, wind, humidity or temperature. No special licensing is required because the radar operates at 24 GHz in the industrial, scientific and medical telecommunication band.

Installation is easy with a 30 mm-threaded mounting base and a choice of clamp or bracket. Units are supplied with either 2 m attached cable or Euro-style Quick Disconnect. Bright LED indicators allow easy status monitoring.
