Pfaff ZWW rack and pinion jacks

Friday, 20 July, 2012 | Supplied by: Motion Technologies Pty Ltd

For users looking for a safer way of removing heavy maintenance covers in mining applications, Pfaff has redesigned its ZWW range of rack and pinion jacks in the 1.5 to 10 tonne range. Smaller sizes down to 250 kg are also available.

The company says there will be no more block and tackles to remove sealed covers on conveyers that can let go without warning. As the covers are rigidly attached to the end of the rack and the crank handle has a ratchet, maintenance operators can apply a light pre-tension to the cover prior to unseating the seals on the cover. The cover can then be safely wound out of the way.

The jacks are designed for sluice gate applications, so they are suitable for all outdoor environments. Stroke is around 550-800 mm depending on the model.
