Manual crane system

Tuesday, 13 June, 2006 | Supplied by: Global Track Australia

The overhead manual crane system from Global Track claims to address common problems found in manufacturing facilities - overhead cranes are often plagued by inefficiencies because of static designs. Prone to jamming and requiring significant operator exertion, Global Track's current models can increase production costs and reduce worker injury risk.

The Global Track system has a straightforward engineering design centred on a pivotal bearing and hanging U-joint, meaning the system is fluid in motion. It operates on fixed side rails yet oscillates, rotates and articulates.

Less operator effort allows for larger spans carrying greater loads. Already a 12 m manual model is available and a 15 m, 2 t manual crane is in development.

The design is versatile in size with internal and external track models and can be retrofitted to universal beams or columns. Thanks to short end carriages the lifting gear can be used close to walls. The system is designed to Australian standards.
