Linde Materials Handling FleetFocus vehicle management system

FleetFocus is a vehicle management system that allows site activities to be better monitored and thereby improve materials handling safety.

The system permits vehicle operation through a pin code or swipe card, limiting access to vehicles to personnel only with correct identification. From an OHS perspective, this ensures only drivers who have been properly trained on a specific piece of equipment may operate it.

Electronic pre-operational checklists are displayed on the monitor and a summary emailed to the operations manager and Linde. If the checks are not completed in full, the vehicle will not allow the driver to continue, ensuring safety and efficiency at all times.

The system provides statistical vehicle impact information to help reduce on-site infrastructure and vehicle damage. An impact sensor is incorporated into the hardware and, once installed, data collected is reviewed to gauge ‘standard impacts’ enabling a system to then be established to report on all incidents over the agreed acceptable impact.
