Hybrid powered forklift

The Geneo-Hybrid is a 3.5-tonne payload diesel-electric hybrid forklift designed to reduce CO2 emissions and increase fuel efficiency.

The forklift combines a 2.5 L diesel engine with 26 kW output, an electric motor and nickel-metal hydride batteries for electricity storage to achieve greater fuel efficiency, reducing CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by a claimed 50%, while keeping the same operating performance as a current 3.5-tonne diesel-powered forklift.

When travelling, a series hybrid system powers the vehicle; and when load-handling, it is powered by a parallel hybrid system as the optimum hybrid structure for forklift operation.

The vehicle delivers the same manoeuvrability as a battery-powered forklift in both travelling (maximum travel speed of 19 kph) and load-handling operations.
