The 6242 Crane Safety Appliance has been designed for use on mobile cranes, tower cranes, truck cranes and hoists of all types, and meets the requirements of AS1418.5-2002 (Section 7.3).

The 6242 Rated Capacity Indicator and Limiter accommodates the safety needs of today's cranes and is simple enough that little or no user intervention is required.

The system incorporates a real-time hardware base that is identical across all platforms. The crane's configuration and calibration are accessed through a touch screen user interface. A backlit LCD graphic display shows vital information about the current operating condition of the crane and voice announcements warn the operator of any pending dangers.

The Crane Safety Appliance can be used as a replacement/upgrade for ageing systems in existing cranes or a new installation on cranes that don't have a Rated Capacity Indicator and Limiter.

It provides a 'fail to safe' feature, further reducing the risk to the operator and plant, providing accurate operating information such as length, angle, height, radius, loads, over hoist limit, slew, carrier tilt, fly status and line part detection.

The system works with all types of cranes, including crawlers, hydraulic booms, gantry, tower and barge. Units are also available for excavators, forklifts and front-end loaders.
