Worker crushed to death by falling steel beam

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating an incident at a residential construction site in that led to a worker being killed by a falling steel beam. It is believed the beam fell on the 35-year-old man after it was hit by a roof truss being unloaded at the site in Point Cook, Melbourne.

The fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to nine, which is three more than at the same time last year.
