The Wieland Electric SNS 4084K zero-speed monitor protects against dangerous machine or system movements.

The safety relay monitors the pulse frequency of sensors such as inductive proximity switches or incremental encoders, and safely switches off the dangerous movement when the limit frequency set on the device is exceeded.

The device can control tumblers in electric locking facilities. In this case, access to a dangerous machine part is only granted when the machine movement is no longer a risk for the operator.

The safe zero-speed monitor can be used with any machine drive technology, so it is suitable as a retrofit in existing machines or systems.

The limit frequency to be monitored is adjustable between 0.1 and 99 Hz and is set via two rotary switches and is permanently stored in the device via a simple configuration process.

The device also has inputs for a restart inhibit and a start override, meaning that, for example, an electrical locking facility with tumbler on a dangerous machine can be easily and safely controlled, even without a PLC.

The zero-speed monitor is 22.5 mm wide and comes either with pluggable screw terminals or spring force terminals. It can be used in safety-oriented applications up to PL e (Category 4) according to EN ISO 13849-1 or SILCL 3 according to EN 62061.
