Schneider Electric OsiSense XUE distance measurement laser

The OsiSense XUE Laser is designed for applications requiring long-range detection. The sensors are said to offer enhanced accuracy over distance and long-distance background suppression. Applications include measuring positioning in automation applications such as precise robot control, coil diameter monitoring, error proofing, overhead cranes and anticollision systems.

The laser features: flexible optical systems, including diffuse and reflex measurement for enhanced accuracy, repeatability and long detection range; diffuse measurement of over 6 m on white objects with background suppression and up to 30 m for use with reflector for reflex model; and multiple programmable outputs that provide extended flexibility through two configurable discrete NO or NC outputs (PNP) and a 4-20 mA analog output.

The product use visible red Class 2 lasers, which allow for a more rapid alignment between the sensor and object being detected. In normal operating mode, the sensor switches to the low-risk Class 1 mode for maximum operator safety.
