Safety light screen

The Banner Engineering EZ-Screen safety light screen range has been expanded to include low-profile models, for small light screens - such as safeguarding smaller machines.

The first and last beams are positioned at the ends of the light screen, delivering continuous detection along the entire light screen and eliminating the dead zones found on traditional safety light curtains.

The system is available as 14- or 25-mm resolution models, 270-1810 mm defined areas, up to 7 m detection ranges and in anodised aluminium or safety-yellow, powder-coat housings, with nickel-plated housing optionally available for ESD-safe applications.

Mounting brackets are supplied for end or side mounting with no dead zone.

The system features 8 ms response times, two 500 mA solid-state safety outputs, a user-configurable 250 mA auxiliary output, flexible wiring to allow emitters and receivers to be used interchangeably and cascading. The interconnection of cascade sensors has been optimised with no large cable loops, allowing up to four sensor pairs and an E-Stop or interlocking guard switches to be connected.

Applications include small assembly equipment, pick-and-place machines, power and moulding presses, palletisers, packaging machinery, roll formers and automated production equipment.
