Laser safety sensor

Tuesday, 01 July, 2008 | Supplied by: Jemtech Pty Ltd

The Shrike series of laser sensors, typically used on long-folder guarding installations, has been expanded with the release of the SH-L600 model that replaces the SH-L534 model.

The updated model has a redesigned housing that is fully moulded from polyurethane resins and rigidly built around a steel mounting plate. This design controls laser drift caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the mounting materials.

The unit now has a 6-pin plug allowing quick replacement by unskilled personnel should the unit become damaged.

The plug is complemented by leads of 1 or 8 m lengths with 4 m extension cables also available. The unit uses red laser light of less than 1 mW output, ensuring safe laser use.
