The Vigilant MX 1 fire detection and alarm system offers a one- or two-loop analog addressable fire indicator panel. Designed for compliance with Australian Standard AS 7240.2, the system features an integral Fire Brigade Panel to AS 4428.3 and is suitable for small to medium-size systems.

The system uses MX Virtual detectors, which are claimed to provide rapid response to fire conditions while minimising the occurrence of nuisance alarms, through its use of heat-enhanced smoke detection algorithms and carbon monoxide fire detection.

A range of multisensor detectors is available, including a triple sensor device that detects photoelectric smoke, carbon monoxide and heat.

The integrated communications protocol is compatible with a range of cable types and the loop configuration allows it to continue transmitting during an open circuit fault. Up to 128 short circuit isolator detector bases or modules can be fitted around the loop to limit the effect of a fault.

An internal log records the history of the previous 900 events and a printer output provides a 30-character text description of the event and a date/time stamp for rapid reporting.

The system is programmable by using the Windows-based software, SmartConfig. The software allows an updated site-specific configuration to be downloaded while the system maintains full operation.
