Euchner CET4 safety switch with AS-Interface

Wednesday, 01 August, 2012 | Supplied by: Treotham Automation Pty Ltd

The CET4 safety switch from Euchner combines non-contact transponder technology with a monitored guard locking function, as well as a door monitoring output. It is based on the open-circuit current principle. By applying voltage at the guard locking solenoid, the guard locking is activated.

Through the integrated AS-i connection, the CET4 AS can be operated directly on an AS-i bus and provides the control system for both the door position as well as the actual locking position. Information about any possible malfunction in the switch can be diagnosed directly via this control system. It is also possible to switch usage from an electromechanical safety switch to the product on the monitor without changing the software.

The switch is characterised by its tampering resistance and the IP67 protection. Along with its robust, attractively shaped metal housing, it can withstand locking forces of up to 6500 N. The use of external LEDs will give detailed diagnostics as well as the option of individual assignment by the user.
