Dytran’s D4190 portable vibration meter for field testing of accelerometers and other peak vibration measurements can be used in conjunction with a handheld shaker for sensor validation.
The meter converts the vibration signal from a 10 mV/g or 100 mV/g IEPE accelerometer to the peak value of the vibration signals generated by the sensors.
The meter has a built-in power supply that provides 2 mA of current at +18 VDC. It is able to power either the 10 mV/g or 100 mV/g IEPE accelerometer and two rotary switches which allow the user to select either of the accelerometer inputs or to select a full scale range of 2, 20 and 50 g.
It features a large digital front panel display, a bias test switch to verify proper accelerometer operation, an output jack for monitoring the output signal of the accelerometer with an oscilloscope or analyser, LED indicator to confirm accelerometer connection and a ‘low-battery’ LED indicator.
It is supplied with two replaceable 9 V batteries providing up to 10 h continuous operation.
Potential applications include accelerometer performance validation and field vibration monitoring where PEAK Gs is desired
