Uniline Safety Systems RoofSafe anchor cable and rail system

Uniline Safety Systems has launched a three-part, continuous roof safety package including RoofSafe anchors, cable and rail systems which will help combat the risks for workers at height while also assuring OHS compliance.

The anchors offer a range of ‘top fix’ anchor points for modern, non-fragile roofs using minimal penetration of the roof or no penetration at all. Force Management energy-absorbing technology allows the use of thin metal roof sheets as structural anchors and, when used in conjunction with the cable system, can support multiple workers for both fall-arrest and work-restraint applications. Fall energy is distributed throughout the whole fall-protection system, enabling the roof structure to cope with the loads in the event of a fall.

The anchors are suitable for use on built-up and composite metal roofing systems, standing seam and secret fix metal roofing systems, and for a variety of membrane roofing systems installed on metal deck, concrete and plywood structures.

The cable system can span up to 12 m between anchors and provides continuous, hands-free access for the user. Working in tandem with the anchors, the cable system takes advantage of the low system loads generated in the event of a fall. Components include end anchors, intermediate cable supports, variable cable supports and corner cable supports.

The extruded aluminium rail system, an alternative to cable-based systems, offers good safety and functionality and has a free-flowing attachment and no brackets to pass over. It fixes directly to the roof sheet and can navigate corners and changes of direction in the building; in particular if suspended work is required, such as external facade access, as the product meets the requirements for abseil and fall-protection standards.
