Telehandler for confined spaces

Monday, 01 December, 2008 | Supplied by: JLG Australia Pty Ltd

The JLG 2505 compact telehandler is designed for work in confined spaces. The machine weighs less than 5000 kg and has a maximum lift height of 5.6 m. Its capacity is 1996 kg at maximum lift height and 800 kg at maximum reach (3.3 m).

The telehandler is suitable for work in the tight confines often experienced in the building materials and construction industry, as well as in greenhouses, poultry sheds and busy distribution yards. It can be used in crowded building sites and low-access locations, such as parking areas.

The machine is 1.8 m wide and 1.9 m high, with a turning radius of 3.35 m and a choice of 2-wheel, 4-wheel and crab steering modes. Maximum travel speed is 25 km/h.

The telehandler features an adapter plate that enables the 2505 to take most skid-steer attachments, along with a wide range of attachments from JLG. Its operator cab has a two-piece door for effective ventilation and easy entry and exit; an adjustable suspension seat; and a single, multifunction joystick with proportional controls.

All-round visibility is increased with a low-profile hood and a side-mounted engine. The position of the engine also ensures easy accessibility for routine maintenance.

The chassis and boom is fabricated from fatigue-tested steel.
