Personal fall limiters

The Miller TurboLite Personal Fall Limiters (PFLs) eliminate the need to ‘switch-out’ different fall protection equipment in situations where fall clearances change.

Traditionally, lanyards have been used for this functionality, but the PFL range claims to make shock-absorbing lanyards obsolete by ensuring workers at height always use the proper equipment at varying height levels. They can also be used in horizontal and foot-level applications where overhead anchorage points are unavailable.

Five models are available, each featuring different termination ends and attributes. Weighing less than 1.5 kg and certified to support a user up to 140 kg, the range offers 1.8 m of working capacity in a self-retracting lifeline, which attaches directly to the harness back D-ring. They are constructed from high-strength, impact-resistant nylon housing, engineered polyester/Vectran webbing for abrasion resistance and aluminium twistlock karabiners. The webbing payout extends and retracts without interruption, decreasing the risk of workers’ lifelines being tangled.

Each PFL features a built-in swivel that allows the units to rotate in multiple directions, preventing the webbing from twisting and binding inside the unit.
