DBI-Sala Ultra-Lok RSQ Self Retracting Lifeline

The DBI-Sala Ultra-Lok RSQ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) with Rescue provides ‘fall-arrest’ and ‘rescue/descent’ modes in one fall-protection product.

If a fall occurs while in the ‘rescue/descent’ mode, the device will arrest the fall and then automatically lower the worker safely to the ground or next level, within 15 m. The speed-sensing brake stops the free-fall and a centrifugal brake instantly lowers the user. This mode is designed to reduce periods of worker-suspension, normally encountered during rescues, or where a rescue would be difficult.

If a fall occurs while in the ‘fall-arrest’ mode, a speed-sensing brake automatically stops the fall, reducing the forces exerted on the user to safe levels of 6 kN or less. It also allows for assisted rescue to take place using a First-Man-Up pole and Assisted-Rescue tool. This mode provides fall protection where users are working over dangerous objects, such as moving machinery or traffic, or when the next level below the work area exceeds 15 m.

The compact device incorporates a 15 m lifeline; built-in carrying handle; anti-ratcheting brake system that prevents it from releasing in post-fall rebounds while connected to flexible mounts such as horizontal lifelines and prevents ‘nuisance locking’ where it activates during normal movement; and RFID-based i-Safe intelligent safety system to fast-track inspections, control inventory and manage information.
