Pilz Australia Industrial PLIDdys safe line inspection device

Monday, 10 October, 2011 | Supplied by: Pilz Australia Industrial Automation LP

The PLIDdys safe line inspection device provides a safe power-up on two-wire connections, providing safety on long cable routes of up to three kilometres. The device allows unintended power-up or plant start-up to be excluded in the event of an error. This is particularly beneficial on interlinked plants or on plant sections distributed over a wide area, which may not always be clearly visible. The compact design means that existing plants can easily be retrofitted.

The device detects all potential wiring errors through constant line inspection and, as a result, customised tests are no longer required. The rugged design enables the device to be used in applications with increased environmental requirements such as temperatures in the range of -30 to +70°C or dusty, dirty conditions. It is suitable for use on long conveyors, cable cars, distributed process lines and remote start applications.
