The latest version of the High-Density Power Hub has increased the available power supply current from 360 to 500 mA for up to four fieldbus segments.

The hub needs only limited space inside a switching cabinet, while low-power loss circuits result in improved thermal conditions which allow flexible positioning.

The hub is a FieldConnex system component supplying the High-Power Trunk concept that provides efficient energy to a large number of field devices inside explosion hazardous areas, while allowing maximum cable lengths. At each spur junction, field barriers or segment protectors militate the maximum current in order to allow safe zone 1/Div. 1 operation of field devices, which can be connected, disconnected and serviced during normal system operation.

The motherboard supports up to eight power supply modules, which allows the connection of up to four Foundation fieldbus H1 segments. Passive power conditioning ensures reliability.

Plug-in terminals with retaining screws provide secure connections which are resistant against vibrations and prevent unintentional disconnection.

An optional Advanced Diagnostic Module provides continuous monitoring and diagnosis of the fieldbus physical layer.
