The contractor safety management course is designed for business owners, construction safety project managers, human resource managers and purchasing managers involved in the selection and management of contractors in the workplace.

The purpose of the course is to introduce principles that can assist in establishing due diligence for all business owners, employers and contractors that have a responsibility to ensure work is performed safely and according to the health and safety legislation of their relevant jurisdiction.

The course defines duties and covers pre-contract activities, OHS documentation, management, and compliance and contractor evaluation.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to identify the OHS legal requirements for all key parties involved; know what health and safety information should be evaluated prior to selection of contractors; understand the systems for contractor management and compliance; and identify indicators for evaluating a contractor’s OHS performance.

There are no prerequisites to attend the course.
